One board or two?

I received two copies of the first 3 or so PCB orders I placed (which I’m not complaining about!) but only one copy in the last.

Was this just random good luck in the first orders, or did you have extra panel space left over that you filled and the last time you didn’t have “Extra” space?

Thanks,

Ray

Hey Ray,

The manuf usually makes two copies and assumes one will fail QC. If they both pass, you get both.

However many units you order, you will get. Some weeks you may get extra.

Interesting.

So is QC determined by eyeballing it? Theoretically if I design my PCB better I increase my odds of getting two?

Thanks,

Ray

We’re not entirely sure. Gold Phoenix used to send us nearly two panels. Then it dipped to one. Now there was a delay of a few days on the latest order because too many boards failed QC so I think they had to rush a second panel through. I dunno what they’re doing…

Either way, you’re in luck if you get a duplicate copy.

Sounds like someone was hitting the sauce at work

Who me? Uh what? No, never! Okay, maybe. It’s just that it’s friday, spring time in Boulder, and I just couldn’t say no to a cold Boddingtons…

I wonder what they drink in China?

Whatever the ruling communist party deems “wholesome” and “non-subvertive” and pays a kickback to the local officials?
