I just purchased an OpenLog Artemis and several Qwiic Connect sensor boards. All of them were automatically detected by the OLA except the 6DoF and 9DoF IMU (ISM330DHCX) boards. Is there additional firmware I can upload or another way to get this data recorded on the OLA as well?
It should auto-detect the 6dof, I don’t see the 9dof/mag version listed as supported
If you don’t hookup the combo board, does the 6dof work as expected?
FWIW there is also an on-board 9dof on regular OLA - are you using this one or the non-IMU version?
I’m using the non-IMU version. But you’re right, once I unhooked the 9-DoF, then the 6DoF does work as expected. I was interested in the ISM330DHCX 9-DoF because it is lower noise, bias, etc. than the built-in ICM-20948, but if there’s no way to make it compatible that is good to know.
Hi @halpert ,
The latest OpenLog Artemis firmware supports both the ISM330DHCX IMU and the MMC5983MA magnetometer. Please check you are running the latest OLA firmware. Those two sensors were added at version 2.5. 2.11 is the latest. Please upgrade if needed.
If your 6-DoF is also a ISM330DHCX, you can’t have both the 6-DoF and 9-DoF connected to the same bus. That will create bus conflicts as you will have two ISM330DHCX trying to use the same address. A Qwiic Mux would allow you to connect both. Link below…
I hope this helps,
Paul
