Everyone wants to talk, and no one want to listen. :slight_smile:

Why is it that there are so many (or so it seems) FM transmitters available, and no FM receivers? I would like to have a chip and breakout board that lets me tune in radio stations (87-108 MHz) from a microcontroller. The Atmel ATR4258 looks like a promising start, though its extra required components are far more than the NS72M transmitter’s. At the risk of sounding lazy, would it be possible to have all the necessary components included on the breakout board?

I haven’t tried these chips myself, but Jeff Bachiochi from Circuit Cellar did a piece on the Silabs Si4700 series FM receivers. They look super simple to use. Here a link to the Silabs site: http://www.silabs.com/tgwWebApp/public/ … matrix.htm
