I am currently working on a project using a P1AM PLC, an arduino based PLC, to communicate with a Keyence 452F camera controller. I would like the controller to relay measurements to PLC and would like the P1AM-100 PLC to send inputs when the camera system should trigger. On the Keyence controller, it can use a RS-232C to communicate with a PLC. Is this possible to do so? If so, how would one tackle this form of communication with arduino code?
This https://www.sparkfun.com/products/449 might be a good option - then just send serial signals that are converted to 12v through it and you should be good to go
I am currently trying to find the correct wire configuration from the Keyence to the P1AM system. I have the pin configuration for all the components; the Keyence, the potential cable I will purchase, the RS232 Shifter, and the P1AM. Can someone view screenshot below to confirm if all the proper communication channels are properly linked. I am not confident in how the the RS232 shifter is connected to the TX and RX port. Also I am not too confident if the RSOut is supposed to be connected to the input or output from keyence. Same thing applies for the RSIn.
