PCB I/O terminal

Hi Guys,

First time posting on here so hopefully I am posting in the correct sub forum. I am looking some advise regarding a terminal block for a PCB I am working on. I want to use a terminal block to get I/O from the MCU I am using on my PCB to my PCB enclosure (mount it in an insert in the enclosure) for ease of access. I have used the header and ribbon cable linked below before but that was to move I/O from one PCB to another. I was looking for a recommendation of a terminal block (screw, spring cage etc.) that would work with the header and cable linked or maybe alternative header/cable/terminal that would allow me to get 40 I/O from my PCB to an insert I cut in my enclosure.

thanks guys

I don’t know if anything that would work directly with your header or cable, but as long as you’re making PCBs anyway, it might be easiest to create a board with a 40 pin socket on one side and 40 [screw terminals on the other.

If you didn’t want to build your own, you can get them [pre made.](2x20 0.1" Header (40 Pin IDC Breakout Board with Screw Terminals - Winford Engineering)](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15519)

Hi TS-Chris,

My issue is that I need the terminal block to be accessible via the outside of the enclosure which houses the PCB. I’m basically looking for what you linked but need to get it from the PCB via a header and cable to the enclosure. Any ideas of terminal that can be linked to a PCB header via a cable?

Nothing I’m familiar with, but the company I linked too can [custom make a board to your specs if you don’t want to roll your own.](Custom Products - Winford Engineering)
