Piezo Vibration Sensor - Large

Hello forum,

I was wondering if I could use the Piezo sensor in water. Is it waterproof? Can the flow of water create energy? I want to place it in a river. Thank you!

Hello Aksingal07.

Sadly these are not waterproof so you’d need to keep them dry if you wanted to use them near water. Bending them will create a small voltage that can be read with an analog to digital converter, but these won’t generate any real useful power.

Thank you for the information. Is there any other device that is waterproof and creates energy? I would like to hook it up to the LTC-3588 or anything else

Sadly not that we carry, but if you can find a DC motor and a paddle wheel, that would be good for generating power from a flowing river. Maybe [something like this would work for you?](Solar Power Mart - Hydro Turbine Power, Re, Green Power, River, Battery)
