Here is my prototype of a ws281x LED matrix with scrolling messages. The messages are entered using a wireless USB keyboard. Smart phone, Bluetooth, and WiFi are not used. The SparkFun SAMD21 mini breakout board drives the LEDs and takes input from the wireless USB keyboard.
