I was wondering if SparkFun is stamping the lock symbol on the lockable Teensy 4.1 boards. PJRC used to do that so it’s possible to tell the difference between the lockable and non-lockable varieties.
I just got an order, and the bags say “lockable” on them, but none of the Teensys have the lock symbol. How do I know that what I received are the lockable variety and not the non-lockable variety? (Also, the bags don’t have the “seal sticker” over the opening that PJRC used to add so that you know the bag hasn’t been opened.)
I’ll inquire and hopefully have some info for ya tomorrow…at first glance, though, I’d say ‘no’ (just going by product photos)
If you know what you’re gonna flash to one, I suppose you could write to it and see if it accepts re-writes to get certitude sooner
Even if there’s a way to determine this, SparkFun should still mark the lockable boards differently than the non-lockable boards. PJRC used to do this. It’s too easy to get them mixed up, currently. See this image of what lockable Teensys used to have on them:
And just to be clear, I’ve received what are supposed to be lockable Teensys (in “Lockable”-marked bags), but they look no different than the non-lockable Teensys; there’s no marking.

I understand; I’m going to pass this along to the MFR team
Thanks. I’m having a very difficult time communicating with the support channel by email and your comment makes me feel heard and understood, finally.
It sounds like there will not be stamps or other indicators going forward (other than the bag it arrives in); I’d recommend just marking them as you unbag with a white sharpie or something to help indicate who is who
