Hi
I recently purchased a protoshield, and although it works on the basic blink test, I can’t seem to get it to work with a more complex project. Am I missing something?
What is the purpose of the 3 pins, JC1, JC2, and JC3? Do they need to be connected to anything for the shield to work.
Currently I feel like I have wasted my money or I’ve made a rather large mess of things. Any help would be warmly received.
Regards
Roger
looks like there is a problem between the 5v power connectors. the 3.3 V connector on the shield is showing 3.3V, but the 5V connector is showing 20 - 30 mV. I have checked the soldering on the connectors, but this seems ok. Does this mean I have a dud board? what do I do.
I can do projects like the Knight Rider Loop which dont need 5V power, because I assume power comes from the Digital output.
Anyone got any ideas?

I fixed it. It was a bad track between the male header and the female header on the shield. Just scraped away some of the covering and soldered between…
All fixed
Thanks for looking
