Provide 4-20mA current loop input / output breakouts (no need both in one) with qwiic interface

4-20mA current loop devices (I really do not like this name, as it truly uses signal in at least the 0-24mA range, 0 to detect broken wires, up to 24 to transmit some error information, see attached pdf) are quite common in industrial systems. I am aware that it is possible to “hack our ways” at least reading (with a given resistor and reading with ADC), maybe even emitting (with some op-amp and PWM setup) 4-20mA, but it would really be much better if there was a Qwiic breakout or 2 to read, respectively transmit (usually these 2 tasks are distinct, so no need to have a breakout that does both) 4-20mA signals.

There are some alternatives, but not qwiic, and not SF, for example: https://www.cooking-hacks.com/documenta … index.html or https://store.ncd.io/product/1-channel- … ith-power/ .

Any hope that SF could provide such breakouts, with matching qwiic standards?

No current plans for such, but I’ll pass this along!
