Putting a microSD connector under an ethernet jack

Hi All,

Do you think I would have any/major interference issues with putting a microSD socket directly underneath (bottom side of PCB) the Ethernet socket (or a magnetics connector)?

The PCB is not very wide and the ethernet jack will poke out through the enclosure and I would also like the SD card accessible as well.

Neil.

Can you remove the SD while the ethernet lead is in?

Or will the card stick out any such that the ethernet cannot be plugged in?

Can you put a good groundplane between them?

Apart from that - if it fits and there is nowhere else it can go…

Another consideration is if the mag jack is thru hole, the SD socket may not sit flush against the PCB when installed.
