Qs about cutting PCB and protect silver

I made made a PCB by GP, pretty nicely done! It’s standard FR4 with immersion silver.

On my board there is a kind of daughterboard with 3 buttons that you can separate from the main board to position the buttons elsewhere.

I did not have v-score made, so I am wondering what’s the best tool to cut it? I have a Dremel with a couple of cutting accessories like the [420 wheel or the [426 wheel, is it ok?

Also I read somewhere that silver can either tarnish or oxidize, can I put something on it? a kind of sealant?

TIA :D](Loading...)](Loading...)

I’ve got some boards with a silver finish and they haven’t tarnished in a couple of years.

The Dremel should work. I score the material deeply on both sides with a Stanley knife and snap it, then clean it up with a file.

GP uses a fairly good OSP coating on the silver, which prevents tarnishing. However, if you handle the boards a lot your finger acids will eat that away.
