removing unwated silk screen layer in an area on PCB

Hi folks,

I made a mistake and and covered an pad area with that thin layer of green silk screen. Is there any way to cleanly remove the layer of silkscreen from affected area? Thanks

I think you are referring to green solder mask. I would have expected your PCB software to not put mask or silkscreen over pads.

I added an SMT resistor between a trace and copper pour that were covered with solder mask by scraping with a single-edged razor blade. I did not do a slicing action, but a scraping action mostly. Tin the scraped area after scraping.

An Exacto knife might be your tool of choice.

Get an exacto knife and scrape at it - it will flake off with enough work.

Make sure to tin it as soon as possible after being exposed or the copper will oxidize and make any soldering much harder.

I use a scalpel for that sort of thing.
