Question about Product COM-18357 (SparkFun BabyBuck Regulator Breakout - 3.3V (AP63203))

Dear Sparkfun,

I saw your product [COM-18357 (SparkFun BabyBuck Regulator Breakout - 3.3V (AP63203)) online and I was wondering

about a design decision of yours.

My question is about the selected inductor. I do not know, which inductor you selected in detail, but it is stated in the design files, that it has an inductance of 4.7uH.

In the [datasheet of the AP63203, in Table 2, the recommended inducted has a value of 3.9uH, On the other hand, in the

[AP63203 User Guide, an inductor with a value of 6.8uH has been used (see section 9).

I am curious about this value and why you chose it??

And why you did not follow the datasheet or the User Guide?

If you could provide a short answer, I would really appreciate it.

Best regards.](https://www.diodes.com/assets/Evaluation-Boards/AP63203-User-Guide-.pdf)](https://www.diodes.com/assets/Datasheets/AP63200-AP63201-AP63203-AP63205.pdf)](SparkFun BabyBuck Regulator Breakout - 3.3V (AP63203) - COM-18357 - SparkFun Electronics)

I would guess that they decided to split the difference while also considering cost/supply, but can’t say for certain
