Question about PRT-13777 Battery Babysitter schematic

The comment text for the dip switches (S2) on the schematic (rev V10/6/8/16) suggest they set charge current limit on the BQ24075. However, when I read the BQ24075 datasheet, it sounds to me like the EN1/EN2 inputs control the maximum input current from the USB port. As such, that current is shared between the charger path and system load (OUT). Am I missing something somewhere?

Thanks

-Jeff

The comment text for the dip switches (S2) on the schematic (rev V10/6/8/16) suggest they set charge current limit on the BQ24075. - This is correct (though note it is only customizable for the USB charging)

However, when I read the BQ24075 datasheet, it sounds to me like the EN1/EN2 inputs control the maximum input current from the USB port. This is also correct - set it to one the default, or ISET, which can be further customized form default via cutting trace SJ3

As such, that current is shared between the charger path and system load (OUT). Am I missing something somewhere? That is also correct - the power path mgmt section https://cdn.sparkfun.com/assets/learn_t … ematic.pdf mentions how the pathing works, and it’s further (potential, depending on your DIP settings) dependence on ILIM as well

Overall, it can be a bit confusing…it might be a good idea to run through the relevant section https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/ba … y-charging of the hookup guide
