My wife wants me to build her the cloud clouds for her classroom. The wish list shows the sealed version of the LED strip. Is there any reason I couldn’t use the unsealded version instead?
Thanks,
Joe

As long as you are careful to not short the strip contacts to each other or anything else you can use either. They are electrically the same.
darrellg,
Thank you for the reply. I thought that might be the answer.

So, I have another question about the cloud project.
I have all the hardware built. The LED’s are still on the reel though. I ran into a few issues. But now almost everything works.
The only thing I can see that doesn’t work is the weather button on the Blynk app. I don’t think it is a problem with Blynk. I think it is a problem with the code that calls the weather service, openweathermap.org.
From what I can tell, it looks like they need me to subscribe and get an API key. I also don’t see where in the THING code you enter a key. Perhaps it is buried deeper than I have looked?
Perhaps, they, the weather people, have changed the interface since the code was written?
Anyone have any advice?
Joe
