Qwiic Pro Micro - Use With Shields?

Is the SparkFun Qwiic Pro Micro, shield compatible? If not, then why not?

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15795

Is there a way to interface it to the SparkFun Mini GPS Shield?

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14030

The reason I ask is that the Arduino Comparison Guide,

https://www.sparkfun.com/standard_ardui … ison_guide

says about the Qwiic Pro Micro: “Shield Compatible: No”.

I am hoping to do GPS logging to an SD card with the Qwiic Pro Micro.

Thanks!

That Arduino guide is old and was made back when only the Arduino main boards generally had shields. We have since designed shields for smaller Arduino form factor boards that should be compatible.

The mini GPS shield is compatible with both the Pro Micro and Qwiic pro micro.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the good info John.

I saw that the Mini GPS shield has the 6 pin JST connector which my GPS does not have.

Can you recommend the best way to connect the NEO-M9N breakout board to the Mini GPS Shield?

You could use a [GPS breakout and a [6 pin JST cable but it might be easier to just use the [GPS the shield was designed to be used with.](GPS Receiver - GP-735 (56 Channel) - GPS-13670 - SparkFun Electronics)](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9123)](SparkFun GPS Breakout - BOB-11818 - SparkFun Electronics)
