Qwiic USB development dongle (SPX-24639) not recognized

I got a SparkX Qwiic USB Development dongle and it was working fine. But then it stopped completely. It shows up in Device Manager as a correct COM port. Arduino IDE sees it but will not write to it (it says there is no device).
If I try to connect via TeraTerm, TeraTerm just locks up.
I’ve had it 3 months and it’s now out of warranty. Is there some way to fix this? Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks!

Try another USB port or device and see if it behaves similarly

We don’t have any known issues with it, though. You might also ensure your USB port is actually outputting 5v

Thank you. Before I contacted you I tried many computers and USB ports. They all respond the same. The OS recognizes the USB as a COM port but nothing can read from or write to it. My computers have no problems with any other device.
How long is the warranty on this product? It is only 3 months old. Just curious.
Thanks!

30 days for most things, though SparkX items generally have no guarantee
A few things have a 1-year warranty period

Okay. Thanks.
So, is there anything I can do to check this device?

You could disassemble it and test the components for a short and replace if’n, other than that I’m not real sure
