Hello all.

I’m looking for some kind of complete 2-way UHF/VHF radio chip or module. Basically I would like to control frequency and power but the radio-stuff should be taken care of by the chip.

I have looked into building my own with a PLL and mixers and stuff but it all end up to complicated and unreliable. I have tried to reverse engineer a Chinese $50 radio, but couldn’t find out what parts it uses, except the micro which doesn’t really help me.

Find a copy of the Radio Amateur’s Handbook at your local library. Transmitters & receivers are really very simple to build and junior high school students have been doing it for decades. The Handbook has many circuits from very simple to very complex.

What are you trying to do that can’t be done with a handful of transistors and diode mixers?
