RE:pblm with configuring xbee pro series 2 as coordinator

Hi Frnds,

to config xbee pro series 2 module as coordinator i have followed below sequence of commands

ATSC 5\r

ok

ATSD 4\r

ok

ATID 1234\r

ok

ATWR\r

ok

ATAI

0x21(scan found no pan ids)

but it is not configuring as coordinator, and association indicator(D5) is also not toggiling

please help me…as soon as possible

You are using series 2 so that means you intend to use ZigBee mesh routing, right?

(rather than simple 802.15.4)

we are using atmega164 microcontroller. To upgrade firmware(as coordinator) in to xbee pro series 2 module i ahve connected DIN,DOUT,RTS pins oxf xbee to DB9 connector(after level shifting)and DTR to GND.

but my pblm is it is indicating unable to connect to modem…

i dnt knw where iam missing

please let me knw where iam missing

You don’t usually need to configure anything manually. Have you loaded coordinator firmware to the Xbee?

To make it a coordinator it needs to have coordinator firmware, the Series 2 modules come pre-loaded with end device firmware, I believe. Try using X-CTU to load it in (www.digi.com).

Does series 2 necessarily mean we have to use mesh routing? I got these too but I don’t necessarily need to use it, I just wanted the newer version…

thanks for reply…

one more pblm is

iam using xbee pro Znet 2.5(series 2)

iam sending data to cordinator from router, but how should i confirm data reached successfully to coordinator.

In every specification they are saying that it will send ACK (who recives rf data packet)but how…iam probing on recieve line(UARTRX)

after sending data(router side)…iam in confusion …

please help me

If you don’t need meshing or the complexities of ZigBee, series 1 with 802.15.4 are much simpler. You can run peer-to-peer with 802.15.4 and not need PAN Coordinators, etc. Any node can talk in one hop to another.
