Real time clock of OpenLog Artemis - backup battery life

Hi!

I was wondering, what is the timespan, the RTC of the OpenLog Artemis can keep the time when no external power supply is applied? As I read, in deep sleep the OLA draws 18uA of current and the backup RTC battery has 1mAh of capacity, which makes it a 56 hours timespan the time can be kept? Does it make sense?

In my application the OLA is powered via 3x AA batteries over the VIN, that will be changed frequently, but still the OLA will be kept without any external power supply for longer periods and should keep the RTC running.

How can I fix this and what other solutions are there to keep the timestamp running?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think the only thing you can do is remove the onboard RTC battery and maybe replace it with something like a CR2032 and a diode to prevent rechaging the battery. It’s too bad they didn’t provide a method of using an external RTC or RTC battery.
