Good Day, all. I have a microscope that I accidentally plugged the wrong wall adapter into and blew LED lighting. I am not sure which component actually was damaged but the company that makes the microscope no longer stocks or supports them so I am wanting to replace myself. I am somewhat electrical inclined. It already has an LED mounted to a puck so that is easily replaced.
Can you recommend an LED, controller, and wall adapter power supply combination?
I was looking at these and would like to know if they would work together and if there is anything else that needs to be included:
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13716 FemtoBuck LED Driver
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13104 LED - 3W Aluminum PCB (5 Pack, Warm White)
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15340 Mean Well Slim Wall-Mounted Power Adapter 54W - 12V, 4.5A ( this seems like overkill but there were no other options that I could see on their site)
There is a dial rheostat on the side of the microscope that I would like to try and reuse to allow dimming of the LED which is very important. Is there a rheostat that can be purchased on Sparkfun as a replacement if it is damaged?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
