Reflowing with SCP1000

Hi there,

I’ve successfully used the SCP1000 pressure sensor that came on a SF protoboard in one of my projects at work. Now we’re trying to reflow some new sensors onto our PCBs.

Would any of the guys at SF, be able to suggest reflow profiles, solder/paste tips on how to get it to reflow well?

Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the idea, we were consulting that guide whilst we were having a go. I was just after any suggestions or experiences from the Sparkfun team themselves (assuming they made the breakout boards in house).

Cheers anyway.

I haven’t had much luck toaster-ovening the SCP1000’s, but I hear other folks have. I can’t offer much help, but I’d be interested in hearing any results you have before I toast any more of these :-/

Well, we got some down onto the boards. As previously suggested we followed the manufacturers soldering guide. Although at one point the reflow machine got to 280 degrees C  Thankfully the SCP seemed unaffected and is working beautifully.

Good Luck!
