Removing photomask from bare board

I have a few photosensitive copper-clad boards I want to use without etching. Since I don’t often make my own PCBs anymore, I want to remove the photosensitive mask as needed so I can use the boards for LED bases, dead-bug circuits etc.

I got rid of my developer and light, so exposing and developing is not a solution. Is there any “normal” household chemical that I can rub on to remove the mask? Sandpaper works, but it leaves a mess.

Iso-propyl alcohol will remove it. So will immersing them in caustic soda solution for a few minutes.

I tried denatured alcohol (97%) and that didn’t work. I have a Zep floor cleaner that contains caustic soda, I’ll try that.

Have you tried acetone ? Caustic Soda will definately work unless it has been exposed it to light for long peroiods of time. Make sure you have peeled off the top white layer which protects the actual sensitied part
