RF-BlueSMiRF TX/RX Debugging

Hi There,

I have a RF-BlueSMiRF connected to an Arduino board ( AVR uProcessor) and I suspect that data is not being forwarded through the TX-0 pins of the BlueSmirf.

I have bridged CTS-1 & RTS-0 pins and have the TX and RX connections crossed over witht he Arduino board. I can also connect the BlueSmirf using hyperterminal to pass AT commands without any issues. However I don’t think raw data is being passed to the TX-0 pin …

Would anyone have tip for debugging this? A simple/easy way to confirm that data is being pushed out of TX pin …

thanks in advance

I think BlueSMIRFs are defective. I’ve experimented with both PICs and with Arduino boards. The wireless connection to BlueSMIRFs is OK, but no data is transmitted from the unit to the microcontroler. This issue has been repeatedly raised in these forums and no reply. I should have read the forums before buying it.

UPDATE: the unit is OK. It is a timing and connection issue.
