RF-KLP Tune question

Ok, i got the 418mhz RF-KLP and im having some trouble tuning it. the transmitter is working fine i think, using my HAM Handheld radio i found the exact frequency to be 418.075 mhz (atleast, its what i think it is, when the data pin is high i get full bars, and when its low i get zero bars)

My problem is i cant seem to get the receiver to tune into that freq, i never get a steady high ouput from it no matter where i tune it to. Ive tried with both antennas and without, the only thing i havent tried is to actually make a pcb, currently both sides of the RF link is on a breadboard, could that be causing the problem? Thanks!

Hi,

The receiver will output all sorts of trash, all the time. You have to write firmware to sort thru this bogus output and extract usable data.
