Hello all,
I am building a project in which I want to control an RC car, giving it some autonomous capabilities.
For first stages of testing, I figured out the lowest cost and most straight forward way of doing so will be to use the RF mechanism already working on the car.
Therefore, my question is: is there a way of sending RF transmission from the computer? that is - I need a serial / usb connected RF transmitter (on a common RC frequescy: 72 / 35 Mhz, or 2.4Ghz), that is controlled though a not-to-complicated API on the PC.
I know it’s a very specific request. Any direction in the right way will be very helpfull.
Thanks in advance,
Do you know the details of the receiver used in the car?
Leon
Hi Leon,
Thank you very much for your reply.
the receiver can vary according to the transmitter I will get. The best possibility for me now is this model:

which is very common and standard in the RC toys industry and therefore very well tested and relatively low in cost.
replacing it with any kind of reciever from the same level more or less, or with FM 2.4Ghz is not a problem.
Thank you,
You need to rethink the whole thing if you want to control the car from the PC.

Hi Leon,
Again, thanks for you replay. I appreciate the help.
can you please elaborate a little, and explain what is the reason you think I should better change the method of work? Is it that such a transmitter does not exist, is it too expensive, or is it very complicated to control?
Thanks,
You need to find a transmitter that can be controlled from the PC, and a matching receiver.
