rc car with pi2pi comms?

I’ve been trolling the web for projects trying to achieve the same as me, but I have had little luck this far. I suspect I am searching the wrong terms, or that what I want to do is too dumb.

For starters I want to build an RC car with a camera arm, both controlled by the same hand controller (f-ex. ps3 controller or similar) so that the vehicle can be steered with one joystick and the camera angle with f.ex. the arrow buttons.

The way I’ve been thinking of it was to use two freq. bands. f.ex 433/866MHz for the control signals and wifi for video streaming. For ex. using a unit like this for the 866MHz:

It would be fun if a setup like this+its codebase could be a kind of framework to upscale to bigger projects later.

I was hoping of someone here to point me in the right direction, perhaps a forum etc that fits. Or to correct some of my wrong assumptions :slight_smile:
