Riffing on the ProtoBoard family concept

A couple of riffs on the new ProtoBoard that I would like to see and think could be useful to many:

  1. a protoboard with a combination of 2mm and 0.1" hole spacing. Quite a few parts like the LANtronix serial devices and MaxBee modules sit on 2mm spacing.

a) 100% 2mm through hole

b) 40/60% 2mm/0.1" through hole

  1. the ProtoBoard’s lipo battery interface, built-in charger, and 3/5 V step-up aspect is good just by itself. I think it would be really nice to just have the top end of the protoboard “standalone” - no prototyping area - as a good decent supply and charger for lots of projects.

For those of us that aren’t so comfortable with the hairier electronics (I’m looking at you, boost converter) but make our own boards, it would be great to have access to the the Eagle file for the power supply and whatnot and possibly a parts kit for sale (picking out inductors and such is a real pain).

That way, after prototyping on one of the protoboards it would be easy to transition to a finished piece of work.
