In the data sheet, several GPIOs are mentioned as being user programmable: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D … 05120A.pdf.
In the hookup guide on Sparkfun, it lists a set of defaults for these pins: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/rn … 2-breakout (direct link to table: https://cdn.sparkfun.com/assets/c/f/f/2 … 8b4569.jpg).
How do I change the actions of the “user-programmable” GPIOs?
I see nothing promising in the command reference for the RN-52: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D … g-1.0r.pdf, although the documentation for the RN-42 makes me think that maybe it was just accidentally not included in the RN-52 docs: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D … -v1.0r.pdf (see section 2.5).
This question has been asked on Microchip’s forums several times without a good response in 6 years (no idea what “the link” was): https://www.microchip.com/forums/m/tm.aspx?m=751824, https://www.microchip.com/forums/m771284.aspx
I’m wanting to run two particular action commands like I would with the UART only without a high-power consumption device like an Arduino or Pi. Ideally, I’d want to be able to 1) “B” - reconnect to last BT device, 2) “A, ” - make connected phone call the number.
