Rover RTK system

Dear all,

I am new of the forum and as well of the 99% of the topics discussed here, so my apologies if my questions can be basic!

I have a SparkFun GPS-RTK-SMA Breakout - ZED-F9P with a u-blox L1/L2 antenna.

I found this tutorial (https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/se … rtk-system) , but I am a bit confused. To my understanding I need 2 ZED-F9P, 2 antenna (one for temporary base-station and one for rover) and one telemetry radio kit to build RTK rover system. Is that right?

If I build a rover station with my material, can I get RTK correction using other system alternative to a temporary base station?

Any suggestion or reading direction is welcome. Thanks

Matteo

What you’re going to need is one RTK receiver system (Receiver/Antenna/Controller/and some sort of radio) and that’s going to need access to a correction source from somewhere.

You could use two receivers each with their own antenna, controller and radio and set one up to be a correction source, or base station. That base station needs to send data wirelessly to the remote or rover station. How you do this could be over cellular, LoRa, the internet or via a data radio.

Another alternative would be to use an existing base station that’s nearby to grab it’s correction data. You should be able to do that via cellular or over the internet. Looks like sparkfun has a few other guides that might help you, links for those are below.
