Hi,
I am interested in getting the cm precision that is capable with zed-f9p . I have already purchased 1 of the SparkFun GPS-RTK2 Board with ZED-F9P , but now realize that I probably need to get another one. Is this correct? For those not familiar with this base and rover setup, here is an article. http://deepsouthrobotics.com/2019/06/03 … x-zed-f9p/
My bigger question is the following: Can I accomplish this base and rover configuration with two SparkFun GPS-RTK2 Board - ZED-F9P that have an associated Rasberry Pi with radio communication? Can anyone that has already done this speak to my question too.
Thanks.
John
Hi John.
I haven’t personally set up a base/rover system but you either need two ZED-F9P’s, or access to data from another remote ground station that sends RTCM correction data. That remote station also needs to ideally be 10km or closer to you. (The closer you are to it, the more accurate your fix will be.) You can use the ZED-F9P as a base or a rover but not both at the same time.
You might have a look at the hookup guides for both of our RTK GPS units for more details on how this all works. The links below should help point you in the right direction.
