Did you put the RTK device into BLE mode?

what if taxes showed again, nothing answered back to me, and without knowng i don0t have to pay 300 dollars again, i still have the faulty units with me.
I’m sorry to hear that. There’s unfortunately not much we can do about the taxes that may be charged when something gets shipped to you. Regardless, I’m happy to ship you replacement parts if you’re capable of opening the units. Please start a new thread and we’ll figure out which bits you need.
Hi Sparky:
Yes, i would like to fix i bymyself. i’m gonna open the new thread, thanks.

@Jonit - Thanks for your work as well!I’ve left the display board unplugged from the main board overnight and also, yesterday I fully charged the battery to 4.22V. Today I’ve measured the battery voltage and it reads 3.64V so that means that the board was draining the battery the whole night.
This indicates to me the unit was on over night but the display was not functioning. The easiest way to tell if you’re in this state is to connect USB to a unit perceived as ‘OFF’. If COM ports enumerate you know the device is fully on, but the display is failing.
I would suggest either letting me send you a replacement display board/overlay kit or send it back so we can swap it for you.
Hi Sparky!
It took me some time to reply . However not much has changed, I did try to fiddle with the unit couple more times, but everything is still the same - display freezing after a random periods of time (even tho if I leave the unit without turning it on for a couple of days, the unit will endure a longer periods of time without freezing).
I would be more than happy to receive the replacement display unit as I expect that we would need to use the GPS with the full reliability sometime next month for an upcoming automotive project.
Thanks!
@jonit - Very good. Email sent. Please email me to let me know the address to send it to.

Hi Nathan, I report back that with the new display unit you have sent, everything is working fine! Just the Acc is not functioning as there is no ACC on this board.
Thanks for the support!
Excellent to hear! Sorry it broke in the first place. Thanks for DIY’ing the fix.
Hello @ singhgu@missouri.edu,
Apologies for the slow reply.
I have had some success communicating with a Facet (v3.3) from an iPhone. Here are my notes:
-
Put the Facet into BLE mode. You can do this by connecting via USB and opening a serial terminal. Select option s to open the system menu. Select option b to select BLE. b allows you to cycle from Bluetooth (SPP) → BLE → Off
-
The Facet did not appear immediately for me in the Settings \ Bluetooth menu on my iPhone
-
I installed Adafruit’s “Bluefruit Connect” App via the App Store
-
Bluefruit was able to see the Facet in Rover mode and detected that it is “UART capable”. I could also connect to it and saw NMEA data scrolling up the screen.
-
I disconnected from Bluefruit and opened SW Maps - also available from the App Store
-
SW Maps was able to see the Facet also, but I did have to “scan” first
-
SW Maps was able to connect to the Facet and display its coordinates
-
The data rate reported in SW Maps is low: around 514 B/s
-
When I returned to Settings \ Bluetooth, the Facet was then visible in “My Devices”
-
I made sure that the Facet’s (WiFi) NTRIP Client mode was disabled. I was then able to use SW Maps to connect to rtk2go.com as an NTRIP client, selected “Send NMEA GGA to Caster” and was able to send correction data to the Facet and see the Facet go into RTK Fix. This was using another RTK device set up as an NTRIP server, pushing correction data to rtk2go.
In summary, BLE seems to work ~well with my iPhone.
I hope this helps,
Paul
Hello @ singhgu@missouri.edu,
I have added more detail in the RTK Manual - Apple iOS section:
