Are there any plans to release a RTK Postcard version with the new U Blox ZED-X20P chip?
Hi @Christian_Kohler - Welcome! In short, no. The X20P is too large for that format. But, we will have other RTK products that feature it.
What I’m looking for is (a) bluetooth connection to an iPhone running SW Maps to provide NTRIP corrections to the X20P and get the location data back to the iPhone. (b) logging raw UBX data to an SD card and (c) battery and charger.
Could I achieve this with:
- SparkFun Allband GNSS RTK Breakout - ZED-X20P (Qwiic)
- BlueSMiRF V2
- Qwiic OpenLog or OpenLog Artemis (which one is more appropriate?)
- Lithium Ion Battery - 2Ah
- A charger - any recommendation for something that lets me charge with USB-C while everything is running?
Or would it be better to get an ESP32 with the RTK Everywhere firmware? What are the benefits of the RTK Everywhere firmware for the use case described above?
Thanks
I don’t believe OpenLog is the answer for this. The BlueSMiRF v2 should be all you need as it supports both SPP and BLE.
You are welcome to use the RTK Everywhere with an ESP32 breakout but it’s a massive hammer, when all you need is a pencil. Personally, I would use an ESP32 breakout of your choosing and then use a variety of example sketches (ESP32-BLESerial, etc) to get the NMEA from X20 and pass it to SW Maps.
