Does the RTK Torch power on when USB power is plugged in? Or is it still necessary to press the power button?
I ask because I want to use it standalone in a vehicle without user intervention. The USB supply will turn on when the vehicle is started. So it would be ideal if the Torch boots up and starts logging by itself after the vehicle is started.

The Torch has an internal battery which is recharged by USB. It doesn’t power on automatically when USB is connected. A separate power IC (LTC2950ITS8-1#TRMPBF) turns the power on/off in response to a long button press. We have no software control over that. The firmware is only able to read the button once the power IC has powered-up the system.
