Safe to connect two Pro Micro RP2040 boards via QWIIC?

I am considering using the Pro Micro RP2040 boards in a custom keyboard. I was wondering if it is safe to connect to RP2040 boards directly together using the quick connector (over maybe 1 foot). I guess the main question I have is whether it is safe to power the second board using the 3.3V pin on the QWIIC connector. I believe I read somewhere that this was safe (it doesn’t seem to be on some other board designs).

Thanks,

David

Usually fine, the main concern would be if the wires create too much internal resistance (usually happens 500mm+ for qwiic) for the i2c bus to tx/rx properly

Thanks. I can always design in a different connector and cable if needed. I’m looking at maybe 200mm anyway (two keyboard halves on a desk). It seems common for people to use TRRS, but the way it shorts things together on connect/disconnect doesn’t make me very comfortable.
