During daylight it appears that the SerLCD backlight is off by default (and after setting setBacklight to 0,0,0), but in full darkness there is still a very faint blue backlight (and associated power draw). Is this perhaps a problem with my individual unit, or a known bug (hopefully with a fix) or is there some configuration to be done that I am unaware of?
Hi Rusty.
It looks like either a bug. I’ll report it, but I’m not sure how long it will take to get it corrected. Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks, if there is a github link to the bug it would be great so I can get notified when it is fixed or provide additional information if needed. Do you believe this would be an issue in the SerLCD library or the OpenLCD firmware?
Hi Rusty.
It’s most likely a firmware issue rather than the library. Here’s the link to the github for the firmware:
https://github.com/sparkfun/OpenLCD
If you put in an issue there, you will get notified. (Also, adding an issue there will get the attention of the engineer that wrote the firmware)
Thanks, will do.
