I bought a new clockgen board just in case I partially fried the first one I bought. (see SparkFun Clock Generator Breakout - 5P49V60 (Qwiic)-Library Issues). Used a Sparkfun Blackboard and connected to the clockgen board using a QWIIC cable from Sparkfun. I still cannot get example 3 (22 MHz) to work - you get 22.937 MHz (unstable) instead of 22 MHZ. The “off-by-one-bit” issue is still present and you just can’t set an arbitrary frequency (within chip’s capability, of course) as the Renesas datasheet for this chip describes. In other words, the new clockgen board’s behavior is identical to the old one. This is not a usable product in the way that Renesas documents in their datasheet.
Hello,
We’ve made several updates to the main code repository on GitHub. If you’re still seeing issues with the same problems, like 22.937 MHz, I would suggest filing a GitHub issue with documentation from your side.
