Sparkfun Moisture sensor malfunction?

Hi there, hope someone can help me with a QWIIC moisture sensor on RbPi4 issue.

I have a variety of Sparkfun I2C sensor boards that cause me no trouble. This one however… more often than not reports every possible I2C address when I run i2cdetect. Tried different cables, even the awesome QWIICBus - same results.

I’ve also tried the cutting and reinstalling the pullup resistors.

Am I missing something simple?

sudo i2cdetect -r 1

Ensure that the I2C interface is enabled on your Raspberry Pi and that the necessary drivers and libraries are installed.

It might be clock stretching by the Tine85-20 chip on the moisture sensor. Raspberry Pi is known to have an issue with that. See https://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi … s/overview for some advice on how to handle it.
