My newly purchased SparkFun Qwiic Soil Moisture Sensor (SEN-17731) is not responding over i2c. When I scan the bus for devices, I do not see the 0x28 address. The example Arduino code also fails to see the sensor and will not run. I’ve switched out cables without seeing any improvement, and have also tested on a MicroPython platform with the same results. Other Sparkfun i2c sensors show up for me just fine, on both platforms. Are there any other tests to do before returning this possibly-defective device?
Test it by itself to rule out combined pull-up resistance being the problem…if it works in isolation, disable all but one set of i2c pullups (https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/so … d-assembly) and re-try
If it doesn’t work by itself, head over to www.sparkfun.com/returns if purchased from us or contact your vendor if purchased elsewhere for replacement

Hello, I was also purchase this product i can try many more for my resolution but no one can replying me.
Can you give me proper solution.
Thanks,
Try setting I2C bus frequency to 100000. I can confirm my moisture sensor works with that setting.
