Hi All,
I am really interested in the SparkFun RTK Facet L-Band ($1500) for drone mapping work. I have been in GIS mapping for over 25 years and only require around 6 - 12 inch relative accuracy. I really like that Sparkfun includes the first year subscription for corrections through PointPerfect. I have an Auel EVO II Pro Enterprise with RTK. When the RTK unit is attached (No CORS base) I get around 2.5 - 7.5 feet of relative accuracy per WebODM quality reports. This works for some projects, but I would like a more consistent solution.
Some things that concern me before I purchase.
-
Not one of the reps on YouTube mention using this unit as a GNSS base station for an RTK equipped drone.
-
Can this unit be connected to a RTK drone using Wifi or Bluetooth?
-
Can an RTK base station use FIX when connecting to an RTK drone (rover)? I haven’t heard of RTK to RTK.
-
Can the export files be converted to RINEX easily for PPK workflows?
-
Can the current export files be uploaded to National Geodetic Survey OPUS?
-
When using PPK workflow, can user enter state plane coordinate system or is output always WGS84 with ellipsoid elevations?
-
What is the relative accuracy without the PointPerfect subscription?
Regards,
Gerry
