After downloading micropython.uf2 to the board it is supposed to attach to the host computer as an USB drive. It does not! However I can reach the board from a terminal and I get the python prompt.
I have tried to connect both from a Linux machine and from a Mac. None of them attach to the board after the download.

Try starting over with our guide here https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/pr … icropython and ensure the steps where you load the uf2 file onto the drive and the subsequent reset are followed carefully.

Have you tried holding down the boot button, pressing the reset button then releasing the boot button?
