I am developing a project in which I will be exposing various RFID tags to different working environments, and analyzing their degradation as a function of exposure to said environments. To read the RFID tags I will be using the SparkFun RFID USB Reader (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9963) and the RFID Reader ID-20LA (125 kHz) (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11828). However, I am having a hard time sourcing RFID tags that will work with the above reader and are bare or uncoated. I will be applying different materials to the uncoated RFID circuits to determine a coatings efficacy as an environmental barrier layer. Any recommendations on where to source bare RFID circuits/tags? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The tags we carry are sealed in plastic, but maybe something like this would work for you?
I think this might just do the trick. It looks like they might have a light polymer coating that I can dissolve with acetone before testing. I will give them a try. Thank you so much for your help.
