Step Down Buck Converter using TI MC33063A

I have a TI MC33063A that I’m trying to build up into a circuit for powering a Raspberry PI (and other things) in my car. I have the data sheet for it, but I’m getting lost somewhere around saturation and frequency.

I want the output to be +5VDC, 5A (a little overkill, but I have other things to power too). Input voltage from my car we can assume is 11-24VDC to be safe.

I have the datasheet: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/mc33063a.pdf

However, it’s making my brain hurt. Here is the reference diagram it provides:

Can someone help me figure out which components I actually need, and if possible (and equally importantly) why? Thanks.
