I need help locating a stereo MP3 player that will work with my audio system. I am using the SparkFun Qwiic MP3 Trigger and it is working perfect as a mono player with the earphone output into two external amplifiers. I now need a stereo, right and left output, MP3 player. The two-channel sound file is created using Audacity and exported MP3. I need a stereo MP3 player that will play the exported sound file in stereo. The output of the stereo MP3 player will be connected to two external amplifiers. Your suggestion is highly appreciated.
Hello Lee.
The Qwiic MP3 Trigger does output stereo, but only through the 3.5mm jack. I’m assuming you’re using a 3.5mm to RCA splitter cable that has individual left and right output RCA jacks to connect to your amp.
Since I’m working remotely I don’t have one to test, but due to the way we mux together the left and right channels for the on board amplifier output, it’s possible that there might be a little bit of bleed over from one channel to the other. If that’s what you’re experiencing, the easiest solution would be to remove one or both of the capacitors that feed audio to the amplifier. That will keep the right and left channels completely separate on the headphone jack but will eliminate one or both channels from the onboard amp.
The attached picture shows which caps to remove if you would like to give that a try.
Thanks for the reply.
The site informs me that I do not have permission to view the pictures of the MP3 Trigger.
