Stumbling along - EM-406 vs. EM-408

Hello -

I’m stumbling along having fun learning but am stuck on what is perhaps an obvious step I’m missing.

Using a GlobalSat EM-406 module, I can see and do all I need to using a Sparkfun GPS Eval board, a Synapse-Snap Protoboard or a PicAxe … cool.

I also have an EM-408 module from which I get nothing - I pulled it from a Geocron Blue so I know the modulne is good but I see no output and get no response, no matter to what it is connected. In addition to 3.3 v, It looks like the RX may need a resistor on this module (the 406 RX does not) but I assume this wouldn’t apply to the SFI Eval Board which even has a 408 connector. Am I missing something?

Also, can the 408 run at 3v? 3.6?

Thanks!

Did you tie pin 1 high (3.3v)? This is the enable pin.
