The [Hammer Kit is a great ARM9 and full Linux capable embedded system. [The Hammer is a 40 pin DIP module that is solderless breadboard friendly.
[The Hammer is a complete embedded Linux system in a 40 pin DIP! I can see many different applications for this in different areas. My favorite area is Robotics, and I plan to use The Hammer in more than one projects.
I recently bought a WowWee RoboQuad, on sale. This is actually an interesting little robotic creature. I am more interested in the 2DOF leg design, but it is also interesting to watch my cat follow it around and watch it, then stalk it and pounce on it.
I found a tutorial that shows how to dismantle the RoboQuad, and it looks like there is enough space in its head to put a small board with a [Hammer on it. Add a JTAG port on the neck, and I think that’s all one would need. it would be really cool to be able to put a Hammer and an FPGA on a board inside RoboQuad’s head. I really like the idea of fully programmable hardware.
