The smallest development board that supports bluesmirf?

Currently I’m using the SSC-32 with the bluesmirf. But for my purposes, I don’t need servo control and powerful micro-controllers. I simply need a board big enough to support a couple LEDs and a piezo speaker while being able to handle the bluetooth connection. Can I get a recommendation for this?

Thanks!

It’s my first time here, but I must say that I’m already a fan of sparkfun products already!

I guess all you need is something with a UART and a few IO pins to control the LEDs? And you could even use a software UART, though that takes more work to do. Maybe one of the PICAXE boards or the new tiny Arduino?

ok, just to double check here. If I get bluesmirf silver with the Arduino Pro Mini and a buzzer. Would it be able to work out correctly without a breadboard attached? I’m still fairly new to this so I want to make sure that I won’t buy parts that won’t work together. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I think so, but keep in mind I don’t work for SparkFun and haven’t used those two products. You’ll need to figure out how to power everything— it looks like both the BS and the Arduino have onboard regulators which can accept a wide range of voltages, so maybe that’s simple. But sometimes the power supply turns out to be the bulkiest messiest part of a project :frowning:
