trying to hook up MPL3115A2 to Arduino uno board

hooked up my mpl3115A2 to my arduino board using this guide ( http://arduinolearning.com/code/mpl3115 … xample.php ). The arduino software won’t recognize the mpl3115A2. Is it faulty wiring or is the guide just wrong? Please help
