OK I’ve done some research on this, I know how the DRC bot detects apertures, how to find them with ViewMate, etc. So I’ve got rid of the other aperture errors that were related to some stock library parts - my recommendation is to build your own parts when possible… I have been using the IPC-7351 standard, along with the PCBMatrix land pattern viewer to get good land patterns set up.
Anyways… another user had mentioned this - when Ultiboard (national instruments) exports to Gerber, it attaches board edge markers on each corner of the board. This is what fails the DRC, I’ve confirmed it by finding the aperture in Viewmate, and it directs to this little things… If only I could remove them in Viewmate, but it doesn’t let me save unfortunately. And there’s no way I know of in Ultiboard to get rid of these. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there a free Gerber editor out there?
Cheers
